The device (10) has a striking plate (15) fixed at a body element (21) of a vehicle. A reserve bolt (16) is placed in a backrest (4) of a seat. The plate is interacted with the bolt to maintain the seat in a functional position. A first lever (13) is connected to a control unit (11) i.e. rotary handle. A second lever (14) is arranged interdependent of the backrest and coacted with the bolt, where actuation of the control unit moves the first lever by a transmission element i.e. resistant cable (12). The second lever acts on the bolt to release the plate and pivots the backrest on a base part.
