PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a somatostatin analog which is a receptor antagonist of a somatostatin receptor comprising SSTR2-selective antagonist useful for diagnosing and treating neoplastic and non-neoplastic mammalian diseases.SOLUTION: The somatostatin antagonist which is DOTA-Cpa-c[DCys-Tyr-DAph(Cbm)-Lys-Thr-Cys]-DTyr-NH2 and which is bound to SSTR2. A method of use of the composition for producing the drug containing the somatostatin antagonist and a radionuclide for radioactively imaging cancer is disclosed. A method of use of the composition for producing the drug for treating cancer is disclosed. The antagonist is preferentially taken up by tumors compared with other tissues.
