PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera 1 of enhanced operability, capable of displaying celestial body information by a simple operation.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus and an imaging method include: an imaging section 22; a display section 25 having a display surface 25A; a sky detection section 41D for detecting a sky part from a captured image; a position setting section 46 for setting an observation position; a database section 48 for storing the position information of the celestial body; an information calculation section 41A for calculating observation information for observing the celestial body from the observation position on the basis of the celestial body positional information; a display control section 41B for controlling the display so that a pseudo celestial body image can be superimposed on the sky part of the captured image.
