The present invention relates to a jig for an encoder used for manufacturing an optical encoder. The jig for an encoder of the present invention includes a spacer to limit the relative movement of a light receiving unit and a scale in the optical encoder. When the relative movement of the light receiving unit and the scale is limited by the spacer, the spacing of the light receiving unit and the scale can be completed. When the light receiving unit is installed on a substrate, a first arm touching the scale and a second arm touching the substrate of the light receiving unit are included, and the spacer is inserted between the first arm and the second arm. |
