PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the appearance of a stretchable sheet excellent without removing a widthwise end portion.SOLUTION: A stretchable sheet manufacturing apparatus comprises: a temporary joint mechanism 21 for clamping a pair of continuous sheets 11 under a temporary joint pressure in a thickness direction of the continuous sheets 11 while transporting along the continuous direction of the continuous sheets 11 thereby to joint the sheets 11 temporarily; a carrier mechanism 31 for carrying the continuum of the thread-like elastic member 13 toward the paired continuous sheets 11 clamped and temporarily jointed by the temporary joint mechanism 21; a winding mechanism 41 for winding the continuum of said thread-like elastic member 13 on the carrier mechanism 31 while letting off the continuum of said thread-like elastic member 13 in the extended state; a cutting mechanism 51 for cutting the continuum of said thread-like elastic member 31, after the paired continuous sheets 11 were clamped by the temporary joint mechanism 21, to form said individual thread-like elastic member 13; and an intrinsic joint mechanism 61 for clamping said paired continuous sheets 11 under an intrinsic jointing pressure higher than the temporary joint pressure in the thickness direction. |
