USE OF NEW CHEMICAL INDUCING CELL DEATH BY SYNERGISTIC ACTION WITH INTERFERON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new pharmaceutical composition inducing death of an undesired cell such as tumor cell and virus infected cell for promyelocyte leukemia (PML) protein.SOLUTION: In a pharmaceutical composition, a chemical inducing excessive expression of PML protein and/or PML protein is combined with at least one kind of substances selected from arsenic compounds, caspase inhibitors and the like. The arsenic compound is preferably an arsenic trioxide and the caspase inhibitor is preferably zVAD(benzyloxycarbonyl-Val-Ala-Asp(O- methyl)fluoromethyl ketone). In addition the chemical inducing excessive expression of PML protein is preferably an interferon (for example,α,βorγinterferon).
