A dust separator comprises a cylindrical body 10, a scroll chamber 11-forming an inlet to the bottom of the body, an opening 19 at the top end of the body discharging into a dust collecting chamber 20, a clean gas outlet 15 coaxial with the body, a dust collecting hopper 13 below the scroll chamber, and a narrow passage 24 of which part at least is an annulus having a greater radius than the body. The dust collectors 13, 20 are provided with valves 17, 22 for the discharge of the dust. In modifications a circular baffle which may be rotary is disposed between the outlet 19 and the top wall 27 of the chamber 20. The Specification gives proportions of the apparatus.</p> |
