Provided is a water freezing preventing device for a water separator capable of filtering and separating water from fuel supplied to an internal combustion engine and collecting the water by being connected to a fuel supplying line. The water freezing preventing device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a water level sensor which is installed in the water-collecting unit of a water separator, and detects the level of the collected water, wherein the water separator is connected to a fuel supplying line, filters the fuel supplied to an internal combustion engine, and separates water from the fuel; a temperature sensor which is installed in the water-collecting unit and detects the internal temperature of the water separator; a heating unit for heating the water-collecting unit; and a control unit, which receives the water level signal detected by the water level sensor and the temperature signal detected by the temperature sensor and controls the heating unit to heat the water-collecting unit in order to prevent the water collected in the water-collecting unit from being frozen when the detected water level is higher and the temperature is lower than previously-set levels.
