PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic sintered compact capable of maintaining high mechanical characteristics such as static modulus of elasticity, etc. and having an abrasion-resistant grain boundary phase and an abrasion-resistant component possessing the same.SOLUTION: The provided ceramic sintered compact comprises silicon nitride as a main phase in a state where the average value and maximal value of circle-equivalent diameters of the grain boundary phases on the surface thereof are respectively 0.05 μm or above and 0.3 μm or below and 0.8 μm or below (excluding 0 μm). Such a ceramic sintered compact can maintain high mechanical properties due to the existence of quantitatively sufficient grain boundary phases between silicon nitride crystal grains but, since the respective surface areas of individual grain boundary phases existing between silicon nitride crystal grains are small, it also becomes possible, in a case where a pulverizing unit of a pulverizer comprising the ceramic sintered compact is contacted, as an abrasion-resistant component, with a pulverization target, for example, to facilitate the reduction of the contact area thereof with the pulverization target and to confer abrasion resistance onto the grain boundary phases. |
