PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid application method for a spectacle lens base material, whereby while a configuration for applying a coating liquid from above and below the spectacle lens base material is taken, the coating liquid can be applied so as to prevent the upper and lower sides of the spectacle lens from significantly differing in film thickness.SOLUTION: A coating liquid application method includes an application step S0 in which a coating liquid is spread over lens faces by means of centrifugal force by rotating a spectacle lens base material so that its optical axis is located at the rotation center while oriented vertically. The method also includes a high speed rotation step S3, after the application step S0, in which the spectacle lens base material is rotated using rotation speed at which the coating liquid is scattered outside the spectacle lens base material by means of centrifugal force. In the application step S0, the coating liquid is applied to the upper lens face of the spectacle lens base material by jetting the coating liquid downward from a horizontally moving upper nozzle. |
