The apparatus has a pipe formed of uniform material comprising a pipe inside wall (4), a foamed interlayer (7) and a tubular outer wall (5), where the apparatus is equipped with a wall extruder (11a) and a froth extruder (11b). The froth extruders are predominantly spatially separated from a wall of the extruder and equipped with a cooling element (13), so that mass temperature of the intermediate layer on an outlet side of a common extrusion head (12) lies below melt temperature of the walls. Temperature sensors (17-19) are attached to a control unit (20).
