The method involves applying a seal (22) on a tool (10) before production of the plastic component, injecting molding composition into the mold in which a fiber preform (16) is placed. The seal is attached in a region of a dipping edge (18) of the tool. The seal is attached in a channel (20) of the tool that rotates in the region of dipping edge. The seal is taken out of the tool. The seal is made of thermoplastic, duroplastic or elastomeric material. An independent claim is included for a tool for manufacturing fiber-reinforced plastic component.
