Preparing syrup, comprises (i) providing a solvent, preferably water, (ii) preparing a solution by supplying at least one portion of the solvent to a mixing unit, mixing the supplied solvent with a first ingredient in the mixing unit, and introducing the solvent mixed with the first ingredient, into a tank for forming a solution, and (iii) adding a second ingredient by supplying at least one portion of solution from the tank to the mixing unit, mixing the supplied solution with the second ingredient in the mixing unit, and returning the solution mixed with the second ingredient, to the tank. An independent claim is also included for a device for preparing the syrup using the above method, comprising the tank for charging with the solution, and the mixing unit connected with the tank, for mixing the solvent with the first- and the second ingredient, where the device is designed and/or configured such that for preparing the solution, the solvent is supplied to the mixing unit, the supplied solvent is mixed with the first ingredient in the mixing unit, and the solvent mixed with the first ingredient, is introduced into the tank.
