摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion substrate which has further improved thermal conductivity and is suitable for being used in a phosphoric acid fuel cell and a proton exchange membrane fuel.SOLUTION: A gas diffusion substrate is used which is constituted of a nonwoven fibrous web, a thermal conductive material, and a carbon-based residue. The thermal conductive material and the carbon-based residue are embedded in the nonwoven fibrous web. The thermal conductive material is selected from a group consisting of graphite, a non-tube, and a nano-scaled graphene platelet and has the longest dimension between from 1 μm to 100 μm. The gas diffusion substrate has a porosity of less than 80%, and the in-plane thermal conductivity of the gas diffusion substrate is at least 4 W/m k at a pressure of 100 kPa.
