PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a liquid discharge performance and improve the image quality of a formed image irrespective of the temperature of a recording head.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 1 forms an image by discharging ink droplets from recording heads 20y to 20k toward a recording target medium while moving a carriage 6 in a main scan direction. A main control unit 101 determines a drive waveform of a drive signal output from a head drive control unit 103 to the recording heads 20y to 20k and drive timing of outputting the drive signal on the basis of temperatures of the recording heads 20y to 20k detected by a temperature sensor 23, and transmits the drive waveform and the drive timing to the head drive control unit 103. The head drive control unit 103 outputs the drive signal having the set drive waveform to the recording heads 20y to 20k at the drive timing to drive the recording heads 20y to 20k.
