PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation method of a thermal power plant capable of reliably preventing carbon in fuel gas from being deposited, in a process in which the fuel gas is circulated in a gas reaction facility.SOLUTION: A thermal power plant is operated as follow. It is preliminarily measured that carbon in fuel gas specified by a first partial pressure ratio of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide involved in a boudoir reaction exhibited in the equation 1 and a second partial pressure ratio of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and water vapor involved in an aqueous gas shift reaction exhibited in the equation 2 is deposited or not, and a gas composition of the fuel gas is adjusted such that the first partial pressure ratio and the second partial pressure ratio of the fuel gas generated by a gasification furnace get to such first partial pressure ratio and second partial pressure that carbon is not deposited in the gas reaction facility: [equation 1] K=P/P(Pis a partial pressure of carbon dioxide and Pis a partial pressure of carbon monoxide), [equation 2] K=P.P/(P.P) (Pis a partial pressure of hydrogen, Pis a partial pressure of water vapor). |
