PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device and a motor drive system that improve power efficiency.SOLUTION: A motor drive device DR comprises: power terminals Ti for connection to a power supply; a charge/discharge element C1 connected in series with the power terminals Ti to be charged/discharged: connection terminals Tc for connection to first and second system exciting coils L1, L2 of an antisymmetric two-phase motor, respectively; and a plurality of switching elements Tr. The plurality of switching elements Tr are turned on/off to form first paths for independently feeding the first and second system exciting coils L1, L2, respectively, from the power terminals T1 via the connection terminals Tc, and the plurality of switching elements Tr are turned on/off to from second paths for independently regenerate residual energies remaining in the first and second system exciting coils L1, L2 to the charge/discharge element C1. |
