PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To qualitatively measure gas concentration in a short time if the gas concentration is low, and to quantitatively measure gas concentration accurately if the gas concentration is high.SOLUTION: The gas detector includes: an electrochemical gas sensor; a pump for guiding a constant amount of atmosphere to be detected to a gas sensor; a microcomputer for determining the concentration of a detection target gas on the basis of a signal from the gas sensor, and an indicator. After the pump guides the constant amount of atmosphere to be detected to the gas sensor, the microcomputer qualitatively determines the presence/absence of the detection target gas on the basis of the signal from the gas sensor in a first time period. When the absence of the detection target gas is determined, the microcomputer displays "gas concentration is 0" on the indicator. When the presence of the detection target gas is determined, the microcomputer integrates the signal from the gas sensor in a second time period longer than the first time period, quantitatively measures the concentration of the detection target gas, and displays the gas concentration. |
