PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing layered double hydroxide having a large average plate surface diameter and a large molar ratio of a bivalent metal ion (M) to a trivalent metal ion (M) (M/M), and to provide the layered double hydroxide obtained by the method.SOLUTION: There are provided [1] a method for manufacturing layered double hydroxide including a reaction by adding bicarbonate to an aqueous solution containing bivalent metal ions (M) and trivalent metal ions (M) under conditions that the total concentration of the bivalent metal ion and the trivalent metal ion (M+M) is 0.01 mol/L to 0.5 mol/L, a molar ratio of the bivalent metal ion to the trivalent metal ion (M/M) is 2 to 10, and a reaction temperature is 70°C to 100°C, and [2] the layered double hydroxide obtained by the manufacturing method. |
