1. A method for managing emergency calls, the method comprising:
receiving an emergency call from a computing device; receiving a location of the computing device placing the emergency call; determining, by one or more computer processors, that the location of the computing device is within a geographic area surrounding a location of a previously reported incident; responsive to determining that no operator is available, sending a notification of the previously reported incident to the computing device; receiving an indication from the computing device that the emergency call is related to the previously reported incident; and responsive to receiving the indication that the emergency call is related to the previously reported incident, handling the emergency call as a duplicative report of a known emergency, including requesting additional information related to the previously reported incident from the computing device based, at least in part, on a request for the additional information included in an incident report of the previously reported incident. |
