PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dye-containing particles for an electrowetting display capable of enhancing the light resistance and of enhancing the dispersibility within an ink for an electrowetting display.SOLUTION: The dye-containing particles 21 of the present invention for an electrowetting display include base particles 22 and a dye included within the base particles 22. Surfaces of the dye-containing particles 21 for an electrowetting display may be formed either by a compound including, as constituent atoms, carbon and hydrogen atoms alone or by a compound including carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur atoms at a combined sum of at least 95 mass% with respect to the total, namely 100 mass%, of all constituent atoms wherein the ratio of the mass of carbon atoms with respect to the combined mass of nitrogen and sulfur atoms is 5 or above. |
