PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pharmaceutical compositions comprising substituted pyridoindole compounds effective in treatment of obesity, anxiety, depression, and psychiatric disorders, as melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH1) receptor-selective antagonists.SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical compositions comprise substituted pyridoindole compounds represented by the formula (1), where G is -CRR-NR- or -NR-CRR; and B is an aryl, heteroaryl or cycloalkyl.
