PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately read numerals, characters or the like by making a lens portion of a camera approach a measuring meter even when the measuring meter mounted on a narrow place or an obstacle such as a tree exists by mounting the lens portion of the camera incorporated in a handy terminal on a freely expandable/contractable member.SOLUTION: A meter-reading handy terminal with a camera includes: a main body 2 of a handy terminal 1; an expansion/contraction rod 20 stored on a side of the main body 2 and freely expandable and contractable; a head part 19 provided with a lens part 17 for imaging an identifier such as a measured value of a meter-reading indication number of a measuring meter MB and a mark; and a head swinging part 21 swingably connecting the head part 19 and a tip end part of the expansion/contraction rod 20. At the time of meter-reading by the measuring meter MB, the head part 19 of a camera part 9 pulled out from the main body 2 is made movable by the head swinging part 21 and is allowed to image an appropriate location of the measuring meter MB.
