PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning body recovery method capable of reducing maintenance costs by preventing damage to a cleaning body.SOLUTION: A swirl is generated in a separation tank 21 with a cylindrical peripheral wall 21a by bringing about circumferential inflow of a cleaning body and a fluid. The cleaning body is whirled and sunk along the peripheral wall 21a by a centrifugal action. The fluid flows out from a position deviating from a locus where the cleaning body is whirled.
