A liquid crystal display, comprising: a first substrate (101) with a first electrode (1011) formed thereon, a second substrate (102) with a second electrode (1021) formed thereon, and a liquid crystal layer (103) sandwiched between the two substrates. The liquid crystal display comprises at least one pixel area, with at least one display unit being arranged in the pixel area. In the display unit, a plurality of strip-shaped notches (2011) are formed on the first electrode (1011) or the second electrode (1021), and are arranged outwards in parallel with each other in at least four different directions from the centre of the display unit, and continuous solid edges or dotted edges are formed around the first electrode (1011) or the second electrode (1021). The continuous solid edges or dotted edges of the first electrode (1011) and the continuous solid edges or dotted edges of the second electrode (1021) corresponding thereto can be aligned with each other, and can be away from the centre of the display unit by slightly different distances. |
