A Seating Arrangement for a Passenger Vehicle

A seating arrangement for a passenger vehicle in the form of a car 101 is disclosed in which front and rear seats 110, 120 are arranged in a staggered relationship. At least the front seat 110 is positioned high with an upright backrest 112 and the rear seat 120 has a backrest 122 that is more reclined than the backrest 112 of the front seat 110 so as to increase clearance between a rear seated passenger and the backrest 112 of the front seat 110. The reclining mechanisms for the front and rear seats may be interlinked by mechanical or electronic means so as to maintain predetermined offset angles with respect to each other.
