The optical type gas detecting apparatus includes a core for guiding incident light coming in from the outside; a cladding having a lower reflection index than an optical reflection index of the core while being arranged on an outer rim of the core and having grooves corresponding to at least one side of the core; and a sensing layer arranged on the grooves to be in contact with at least one side of the core.
