The invention relates to a slide guide for a linearly-slidable machine slide (2) that is arranged on a machine base (1) of a machine tool. The problem to be solved by the invention consists in improving the guidance of tool slides on machine bases and in reducing the complexity for the slide guide. The slide guide comprises at least two support guides (5) and one longitudinal guide (6), and a guide rail (7) is arranged between the support guides. Said guide rail consists of a rib which extends in the longitudinal machine base direction, is arranged in and protrudes perpendicularly to a central section of the base, and comprises a projection (3) that is detachably secured to the upward-facing surface and overhangs on one side in the transverse direction. The projection is designed as part of a linear drive. The machine slide has a lip that engages beneath this projection and protrudes into the gap between said guide rail projection and the central part of the machine base.
