The invention relates to a method for connecting workpieces (8, 9), comprising the following steps: providing a resistance welding head (2) having at least two coaxially arranged electrodes (3, 4); positioning two workpieces (8, 9) between the electrodes (3, 4) of the resistance welding head (2); feeding a band-shaped solder (7) between the two workpieces (8, 9) to a solder joint (14); soldering the two workpieces (8, 9) to each other, wherein an electric current (23) through the two workpieces (8, 9) and the solder (7) is produced between the electrodes (3, 4) until the heated solder (19) between the two workpieces (8, 9) breaks off from the rest of the band-shaped solder (7). The welding head production resource is used both for welding and for soldering. The invention further relates to a connecting device for connecting or joining workpieces that carries out a corresponding method. |
