PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decline in back pressure of blown gas in an upper nozzle with a refractory for gas blowing. SOLUTION: The upper nozzle 10A includes the refractory 13 for gas blowing with at least its outside surface surrounded by a metal plate 14, and the lower surface of the refractory 13 for gas blowing is joined on an upper surface of an upper plate 20 of a sliding nozzle apparatus via mortar 21. High strength mortar 18 having a hot elastic modulus of 0.6 GPa or more at 1,200°C is arranged facing the lower surface of the metal plate 14 with a thickness of 3 mm or more.
