The present invention relates to a battery pack for a vehicle, and more particularly to an apparatus for shutting off power of a battery pack for a vehicle, which measures an internal pressure according to deformation of the battery pack due to an impact applied to the battery pack and shuts off electric power when the internal pressure exceeds a threshold value after the internal pressure is compared with the preset threshold value. The present invention includes a power source for receiving driving power from a vehicle driving battery pack, a pressure sensor attached to the battery pack, for measuring an internal pressure according to deformation of the battery pack due to an impact applied to the battery pack, and a controller for comparing the measured internal pressure with a preset threshold value, and if the measured internal pressure exceeds the threshold value, shutting off electric power from the power source. Accordingly, because an internal pressure generated by an impact directly applied to the battery pack through the pressure sensor attached to the battery pack is measured, an abnormal state of the battery pack generated not by an indirect external impact such as an accident but by an impact directly applied to the battery pack can be easily identified. |
