<p>The present invention relates to a battery management system and method having a hierarchical structure. The battery management system and method having a hierarchical structure comprises a module battery management unit for collecting information on a cell; a sub battery management unit for generating information on a battery pack unit with the collected information; and a master battery management unit for integrating and transmitting the information on the battery cell and the information on the battery pack unit which are transferred from the sub battery management unit, to at least one of an energy management server or a power conversion system, thereby enhancing the efficiency of communications by minimizing data transfer and enabling detailed management of a pack unit with the subdivided battery pack corresponding to the battery cell to facilitate maintenance.</p> |
