The device (1) has a supply container (3) for intermediate storage of a liquid product (2) to be treated. A downstream flow line (7) provided on an outlet side discharges the liquid product from the container and supplies the discharged liquid product for treatment e.g. heat treatment. An input-sided supply line (5) delivers untreated liquid product into the supply container. A return line (11) returns the treated liquid product into the supply container. A bypass line (13) delivers the untreated product into the downstream flow line by bypassing the supply container. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing a liquid product such as beverage to be treated.
