The present invention relates to a polarizer manufacturing method which includes swelling, dyeing, cross-linking, and elongation steps. In the cross-linking step, the temperature of a cross-linking basin is 54 to 60°C, and the contents of boron compound in a cross-linking solution are 3.4 to 2.8 wt% with respect to 100 wt% of water. Initial crossed colors of u′ and v′ on the basis of a CIE1976 standard satisfies 0.180 <= u′<= 0.220, 0.360 <= v′<= 0.400, whereby heat resistance is excellent and the variation of the crossed colors is minimized at a high temperature. Accordingly, when the polarizer is applied to a liquid crystal display device and disposed on crossed nicols, neutral black color can be obtained although the polarizer is exposed to a high temperature for long time. |
