The present invention relates to a uranium oxide nuclear fuel pellet to seize fission products on a metal microcell in the uranium oxide nuclear fuel pellet. Provided are the uranium oxide nuclear fuel pellet and the method of manufacturing the same, to suppress the release of the fission products in normal operating conditions by disposing the metal microcell having excellent protective ability of the fission products in the uranium oxide nuclear fuel pellet to seize the fission products in the metal microcell, simultaneously to improve the performance of the fuel by reducing the temperature of the fuel, and to improve safety by effectively suppressing the release of radioactive materials to the environment under accident conditions.
