The present invention relates to a method for providing a control device in which, by means of operating an input apparatus (4), an information display on a display area (1) is controlled, wherein the displayable information comprises at least two lists, each having a plurality of list entries (16, 18, 20). At least one subset of the list entries (16, 18, 20) belonging to the lists can be displayed on the display area (1), and upon display of at least one subset of one of the lists a specific list entry (16, 18, 20) of the list is highlighted by a first operating action. The method according to the invention is characterised in that, in the case of the first list, a highlighted list entry (16, 20) is automatically selected after elapse of a time interval in which the list entry (16, 20) was continuously highlighted, and that, in the event of the second list, a highlighted list entry (18) is selected by a confirmation input. The invention also relates to a control device for carrying out this method and to a vehicle having such a control device. |
