The present invention relates to a pipework fitting which may be fitted to a soil pipe access cap branch pipe, and allows easier and quicker fitting of new pipework to the soil pipe without having to cut into the soil pipe. The fitting comprises a tubular body with a first end (12 figure 3) having a female screw thread (16 figure 1) arranged in use to engage a male thread provided at a pipework access point. The fitting further comprises a circular stepped portion 18 located adjacent to the screw thread at the first end. The stepped portion is preferably flat and extends inwards from the circumference of the tubular body. The stepped portion may have a rim (26 figure 1) rising above the flat region (24 figure 1) of the step and is arranged to receive a sealing ring 20. The second end (14 figure 3) of the tubular body comprises a bore arranged adapted to receive a pipe within the bore. A later embodiment relates to a method of adding pipework to existing pipework. |
