PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and an LCD resolution-compatible method thereof are provided to display an application image as the same shape shown on a WVGA LCD regardless of the actual size of an LCD by enlarging and displaying the image for actual LCD resolution after displaying the image on a window according to WVGA resolution when the resolution of a market application and the LCD resolution are different from each other. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(151) displays a market application stored in a memory(160). If market application is executed, a control unit(180) enlarges or reduces a market application image for actual LCD resolution after drawing the market application image at virtual standard resolution according to settings of a resolution-compatible mode in order to display the image on the display unit. The resolution of the market application is different from the actual LCD resolution. The virtual standard resolution is one of HVGA(Half Video Graphic Array), WVGA(Wide VGA), HD(High Definition), and XGA(eXtended Video Array) and the actual LCD resolution includes the resolution of the HVGA, the HD, and the XGA. The market application image is enlarged on canvas after being drawn on a window.
