<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling a rear lamp of an automobile, capable of amplifying the brightness of a rear lamp (5) in a situation of a clear day mode, when a sun is positioned within a moving direction range of an automobile. According to the present invention, an apparatus for controlling the rear lamp of an automobile includes an illumination intensity sensor (1) for detecting an intensity of illumination outside an automobile; a GPS (2) for detecting position information of both automobile and sun; a direction sensor (3) for detecting direction information on the moving direction of an automobile; and a control unit having a function for altering the brightness of the rear lamp (5), using the values detected in the illumination intensity sensor (1), GPS (2), and direction sensor (3).</p> |
