The present invention relates to an abradant for pretreatment and to a manufacturing method thereof. The abradant for pretreatment according to the present invention comprises: ball shaped metal spheres; and a plurality of uneven edges formed on the sphere surface, thereby being able to achieve high surface roughness and uneven density on the treated surface by the abradant for pretreatment while expanding contact area with the treated surface. Therefore, pretreatment for coating a ship can be efficiently performed and working hours and costs can be reduced.
