The present invention relates to a composition for external application on the skin containing ginsenoside RG3 as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the composition for external application on the skin regulates transcription factors of sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP-1c), peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (PPARs), or fatty acid synthase (FAS) to promote biosynthesis of triglycerides, cholesterol, or ceramides. Therefore, the composition for external application on the skin has effects of maintaining homeostasis of the skin and preventing skin aging. |
