The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for track diagnosis using railway vehicle driving noise. The disclosed apparatus for track diagnosis includes a sound collection unit that collects sounds which are generated during railway vehicle driving; a location information unit that acquires railway vehicle driving location information; a sound processing unit that extracts driving noise data from the collected sounds and determines a track error based on the extracted driving noise data; and a sign unit that signs an error state for identification at a track error position according to the driving location information when the track error is determined. Accordingly, the track state is diagnosed by using the railway vehicle driving noise, and thus a sudden track error occurring during railway vehicle driving can be dealt with immediately. Also, all types of errors generating an abnormal noise as well as cracks and breaking occurring in the track can be detected. Since a sound processing method is used, building costs can be relatively lower when compared to an image processing method. In addition, the track error can be determined within a relatively shorter period of time. |
