Disclosed are an apparatus for locking a merchandise outlet of a multi-vending machine, which is capable of preventing merchandise from being stolen by automatically locking the merchandise outlet when the multi-vending machine is not in a merchandise selling state, and a method thereof. The disclosed apparatus for locking a merchandise outlet of a multi-vending machine comprises a control unit for determining an operation state of the multi-vending machine to generate a door locking control signal for the merchandise outlet according to the determined operation state; and a door lock for locking or unlocking a door of the merchandise outlet according to the door lock control signal generated from the control unit, wherein the control unit determines the operation state of the multi-vending machine based on money slot and keypad operation states to generate the unlocking control signal for unlocking the door when the multi-vending machine is in a merchandise selling state or to generate a locking control signal for locking the door when the multi-vending machine is not in a merchandise selling state. |
