A pressure-tight bearing for a spindle 3 comprises a member 8 formed with a recess 16<SP>1</SP> containing a sealing 0-ring 6 and a plastic washer 7, the washer 7 snugly fitting and rotatably supporting the spindle 3 and acting as a support for the 0-ring 6 against fluid under pressure acting at the side of the 0-ring remote from the washer. The member 8 is clamped between a cap 9 and a member 2 screwed into the casing 1A. The plastic washer 7 is preferably made of polytetrafluoroethylene. A ballbearing 14 is disposed between the spindle 3 and member 2 to take axial thrust. Sealing 0-rings 12, 15 are also provided.
