Disclosed are a method and a communication terminal for depacketizing a RTP packet, which is capable of depacketizing a packetized image in an RTP communication environment by using a quick computation. According to the present invention, in performing at least one of a streaming service, a video telephony, and a video communication service, for at least two RTP packets which are packetized and received, after reading and storing a first RTP packet on a single buffer, a portion of a last part of encoded original image data of the first RTP packet, which corresponds to a header size, is stored on a temporary buffer. In reading and storing a second RTP packet, after storing the second RTP packet to be overlapped with the first RTP packet from a starting point of the data stored in the temporary buffer, a header of the second RTP packet is deleted, a damaged portion of the first RTP packet is restored by using the data stored on the temporary buffer, a header of the first RTP packet is deleted, and the encoded original image data of the RTP packet, which is stored on the single buffer, is provided as an input value to a decoder. |
