The present invention relates to a system and a method for driving an Internet protocol television (IPTV) cable modem and, more specifically, to a system and a method for driving an IPTV cable modem facilitating real-time multi channel viewing by: providing a plurality of tuners to the cable modem to allocate the tuners for receiving multiple IPTV broadcast data, to each broadcast channels to be viewed; reallocating the tuners for receiving the broadcast data of a new channel, when a channel switch occurs, to prevent the broadcast outputted from another image playback device from being affected; and enabling an IPTV broadcast service provider to preset a modem, which is to be activated to receive the broadcast data, thereby enabling real-time multi channel viewing of multiple channels on multiple image playback devices without affecting the broadcast, which is watched on other image playback devices. |
