The present invention relates to a method for preventing a gas boiler from freezing capable of preventing a heating pipe from freezing using a heating water temperature sensor in a boiler and also preventing a hot water pipe from freezing by controlling a three way valve. The method for preventing a heating pipe and a hot water pipe of a boiler from freezing includes: a step (a) of circulating heating water through a closed circuit including a circulating pump (140), a heating heat exchanger (110), a three way valve (120), and a hot water supply exchanger (130) by operating the circulating pump (140) and performing combustion stroke of a boiler after converting the three way valve (120) into a hot water mode if the temperature of heating water becomes lower than that of the preset freeze protection setting temperature; and a step (b) of circulating the heating water through a heating water pipe (200) by operating the circulating pump (140) and performing fire extinguishing stroke of a boiler after converting the three way valve (120) to a heating mode if the temperature of the heating water becomes higher than that of the preset predetermined temperature. Therefore, the method for preventing a gas boiler from freezing can prevent a heating pipe and a hot water pipe from freezing and solve a problem of inconvenience in use of hot water induced by the freeze of hot water pipe in wintertime. Also, combustion is not continuously performed in the boiler in order to prevent the heating pipe and the hot water pipe from freezing, so the method for preventing a gas boiler from freezing of the present invention makes little difference in the quantity of gas consumed as compared to the conventional freeze protective function. |
