The present invention relates to an organic light emitting display device. In particular, the technical task of the present invention is to provide an organic light emitting display device capable of collecting sensing signals through a gate line overlapped on power lines in a display area and detecting abnormality of a panel in the display area using the collected sensing signals and a driving method thereof. To that end, according to the present invention, the organic light emitting display device includes: a panel in which pixels are formed at every crossing area between gate lines and data lines which are formed in a display area wherein in each pixel, a pixel circuit and power lines to supply power necessary to drive the pixel circuit are formed; a gate drive IC which supplies a scan signal to the gate lines; a power supply unit which supplies power to the power lines; a detection unit which detects abnormality of a panel in the display area; and a control unit which controls the operation of the power supply unit according to the detection result by the detection unit.
