Provided are a method of improving a listening function and an audio output system to which the method is applied. A listening function improving method according to an embodiment of the present invention sets a BD of an audio signal to be output through a speaker, measures an ED through a sound sensor and controls the audio signal when the ED is greater than the BD. Thus, an audio signal is controlled and output in consideration of the sound/noise environment of a broadcasting area, so that broadcasting contents may be clearly transferred to people.
