The method involves attaching identification mark (14a) onto object (4a) in a known relative position (Ra) in relation to the pickup point (6). The physical location (La) of identification mark in the installation (2) is determined by locating apparatus (16) of computation device (18) arranged in the installation. The tolerance location (Ta) is determined from the physical location and the relative position by computation device. An independent claim is included for a device for determining location point for object in installation.
